Hong Kong Part 3!

The last day I was in Hong Kong started out rough, but ended up being amazing. We had a little too much fun the night before and didn't get back to our hostel until 7am. So after only a few hours of sleep, we were up and at it for the last day there.

We started off with some coffee and relaxing, and later moved on to Mexican food. I was so excited to eat chips and salsa and a really good burrito.

After that, we took the MTR (train thing) to Lantau Island. We had a ton of confusion trying to get there, but it was so worth it. My friend and I took a cable car to the top of a mountain, an area called Ngong Ping. It was absolutely breathtaking. The sun was setting on the way up, and it was perfect. We could see everything from so high up. I took about a billion and a half pictures, but they don't do the view justice. Here are some of my favorites:

The cable car

Tian Tan Buddha

It was equally as beautiful and cool when we got to Ngong Ping, Unfortunately, we couldn't spend too much time up there because we had get back and go to the airport for our flight home.

It was really crowded

The way back it was around 8:30pm so everything was dark, but you could see the city and the big Buddha all lit up.

It was an absolutely amazing trip over all. I definitely needed a vacation, and it was the perfect way to spend my Chinese New Year. I am now officially 6 months in to my time in Taiwan, and this was a great way to celebrate. I'm feeling really positive about new beginnings and the year of the horse.
